Ethan Margolin
I'm a Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with experience in robotics R&D, product development, and manufacturing automation. To me, electricity is magic, harnessed by computer science, and channeled through mechanical engineering.
About
I focus on human-centered product development engineering, industrial automation, and robotics. I like owning the full stack of a build (from CAD and 3D printing to breadboard prototypes, custom PCBs, and embedded software) so the final product not only works, but solves a real problem for the people using it.

ThermAlarm V2 | Thermal Smart Alarm Clock
ThermAlarm V2 is a custom smart alarm clock that wakes you up by warming your body and helps you fall asleep by gently cooling you down. Instead of a blaring siren, it uses temperature to align with your natural sleep cycle and avoid disturbing roommates.
- Custom PCB designed specifically for the system's power, sensing, and control needs.
- Fully custom 3D-printed mechanical design with portability in mind.
- Can run plugged in while charging the battery, or operate on battery power alone.
- Built to improve sleep quality and reduce the shock of traditional alarms.
